It's been several years since a soap opera has had such as controversial
protagonist as Adriana Nieto who, according to the producer,
from the beginning of the recordings demonstrated that performing as an actress was just
her "hobby" and not in any way her priority.
Although the producer was initially questioned for the selection
of Adriana as the main character of Locura de Amor, he always said that the actress called his attention
ever since he saw her in the soap opera "For Your Love" in 1999.
Plagued with ups and downs, the participation of Nieto in Madness of Love - where she
plays Natalia - stood up by the major conflicts she had with Juan Soler and by her lack of respect towards the time and
production schedules.
The victim
Nieto has defended her side of the story a number of times. She says the producer and Juan did not treat her
well, that she was never allowed to take breaks, and that once Juan's breath smelled like alcohol in a scene where they had to kiss.
Adriana also claims the producers were abusive, and the recording schedules were always hard and inconvenient for her.
On top of everything she claimed she was never attracted to Juan Soler. Rather she disliked him. The constant fights that she had with both
the producer of the series and Juan Soler led the director to finally fire her and hire a new actress to play the role
of Natalia.
Adriana's arguments can be questioned, since no other actors defended Adriana or supported her version of the story. Most of the cast
sided with Juan Soler and the producer, with the exception of Laisha Wilkins (Rebecca).
"Finally we had to make this decision, I tried to speak with her in diverse occasions and I always faced a closed woman,
who only seemed to listen to her fiance. It was a pity, because I still think that she has talent. "
Juan Soler said "What I can say to you is that I am the main one affected, and we haven't seen the end of it
because I have sued her for defamation. "
Gabriela Platas: "For me the important thing has been that I have made great friendships,
we were a close group and it was a shame that because of one person things we could't finish as happy as we started."
Laisha Wilkins: "I cannot think, the truth is that I believe that both sides of history have a part
of reason, and it is very sad that Adriana had to go away, she was very talented and we were great friends."
Other actresses like Francesca Guillén or Adamari Lopez and Mariana Avila prefer not to give their opinion on the matter.
